Review: Revoltech Mouri Motonari

Mouri Motonari is an asshole, simple as that.

Well, that’d be too easy of a description. As Shimazu would describe him ‘His morals transcend good and evil’. Motonari would do anything to achieve his goal, including sacrificing his own men. He also believes in Sun almost like a diety that he calls himself ‘The Child of sun’. Total opposite of Chosokabe in terms of personality, he has clashed with the pirates of Shikoku many times. Kaiyodo thought he was worth something, because he was released next to Motochika.

Review: Revoltech Chosokabe Motochika

“The Demon in the island of demons is me!”

Chosokabe Motochika looks like a pirate, talks like a pirate, and fights like a pirate. With his anchor-tipped spear, he can bash his enemies, and then surf through the air. Despite his tough demeanor, he sincerely cares about people in his island and his underlings, which is the reason why his army calls him ‘Aniki’. With the power of marine fortress known as ‘Fugaku’, he fights off his rival Mori Motonari’s army (or anyone else for that matter). With Motonari, Chosokabe was released not long after Yukimura and Masamune were released.

Review: Revoltech Sanada Yukimura

(Provided by HobbyLink Japan)

The best way to describe Sanada Yukimura is that he’s a rookie with hot-blooded heart. He heads into the battle with no fear and plenty of determination, to accomplish his lord Takeda Shingen’s goal. Just as he is fierce in battle, he is extremely loyal to Shingen (OYAKATA-SAMAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!). In Sengoku Basara anime, his fearless personality contrasts and compliments Date Masamune’s calm and cool personality, which makes them one hell of a rivals. I do like Yukimura’s character, especially during second season. He may be naive at times, but he still cares for people around him. That part of him was put to the test in Sengoku Basara Two, and I think it’s safe to say that he passed. Along with Date Masamune, you can own Yukimura’s burning soul on your shelf.

Review: Revoltech Date Masamune

(Provided by HobbyLink Japan)

‘The One-Eyed Dragon is not just for show, you see?’

One-Eyed Dragon of Oshu, Date Masamune is one of the most fierce (and most popular) characters in Sengoku Basara. The first 10 minutes of Sengoku Basara anime showed what kind of person Date Masamune is: Brash, strong, unconventional at times, charismatic, and full of ENGRISH! When I heard him speak English (mind you, this is Japanese version we’re talking about), it blew my goddamn mind. ‘Di..did he just say ‘Put Your Guns On’ in English? Holy Fuck!’ Since then, Date Masamune’s reputation kept growing, as well as his rivalry with Sanada Yukimura. In November 2009, Date Masamune and Sanada Yukimura kick-started Yamaguchi Revoltech’s Sengoku Basara line.
