News: Batman: Dark Knight Rises Movie Master reveals

Mattel recently revealed 2 new figures that will be part of the Dark Knight Rises “Movie Masters” line this summer: John Blake and Alfred Pennyworth:

In Addition: they also showed off the new packaging for the line:

the figures join the previously announced figures of Batman, Catwoman, and Bane. The line is set to hit stores this Summer.

Raiders of the Lost Toy Ark re-discovers… “Secret Wars”

In this edition, we go back to the 80’s as we talk about toys based on comics. So let’s set it up a bit: in 1984, Kenner was awarded the coveted DC Comics license and in retaliation to He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Kenner produced their own line of super powered hero toys that we know and love as ‘The Super Power Collection’. With the figures selling like hotcakes and DC Comics ready to reboot their entire universe the year afterwards in Crisis on Infinite Earths, Mattel and Marvel’s then Editor-in-Chief Jim Shooter decided to make their own brand of super hero toys and big comic event with Secret Wars.
