In case you haven’t kept up with Berserk since volume 21 or so, here’s the rundown:
Berserk armor is ancient armor forged by dwarves that increases every stat the person have, at the cost of wearer’s sanity. Guts was given this dangerous armor during his stay at Flora (Shierke’s mistress)’s home, as Griffith’s apostles attacked Flora’s home.
The overall appearance screams out Batman (which by the way, is what many Berserk fans call this armor), with pointy ears and Gut’s overall personality. Which brings me to this parody image I just made few minutes ago:
